Sh. N.P.S Aulakh, IPS
Director General of Police, Punjab

This website is an endeavour of the Punjab Police to establish another channel of communication with general public in order to strengthen the links, and present facts without any distortion. The State Police is committed to provide transparent, responsive and accountable police administration to help the public in distress.

Our force is considered amongst the most capable police forces in the country. It has a glorious past of unparalleled achievements and sacrifices, and is fully prepared to overcome the challenges thrown up from time to time. By its efforts in curbing terrorism successfully, it has proved the point that nothing is impossible. There are so many challenges awaiting us. The menace of Drug Trafficking, increasing ratio of crimes against women & children, cyber crimes and other specialized crimes are posing a serious threat, and require more vigilance and quick action. It is also the right time for every police officer to have sufficient knowledge and expertise of latest techniques to check the crimes effectively.

It is a matter of pride to lead such a gallant force, and I am fully aware of my responsibilities as the state police chief. I urge the members of the force to immediately respond to the calls of needy people and work in a professional manner by strictly adhering to the frame work of laws.

I also seek the cooperation of all sections of the Society in preventing and detecting crimes, while assuring them of our full support in their efforts.

The State Police reiterates its resolve to endeavour for a safe and secure environment in the State.
